Our Story

Our founder, Michael Breetz’s relationship with

Northern Kentucky and its Licking River Valley

dates back more than half a century. As a youth, he

was intrigued by farming and raising cattle. He loved the notion of being a steward of the land and chose to pursue the age-old practice of livestock farming.

Serving High Quality 

Licking Valley Cattle Co.'s herd is exclusively Historic Aberdeen Angus from Australia bred with Wagyu, enabling us to raise smaller frame cattle that produce prime meat using only our local forages. Utilizing summer and winter annuals reduces the need for hay  delivering a sustainable and delicious product.

Absolutely no hormones or antibiotics are used at any time in our herd.

Making a Difference.

In partnership with the
University of Kentucky College of Agriculture we have implemented rotational grazing; achieving certification as a Quality Cattle Handling and Care Facility. Michael was awarded Conservator of the Year for all the regenerative practices on the farms.
